      Moddit, How was the screen layout on the Thin one? Any suggestions?

      Wallpapers are easy to change, but I like mine to be something interesting and cool, but smooth, flowing and soothing, and not a distraction for my eyes. I like nature photos, generally, of things like clouds and water or fields…

        Here is the 2nd try. I cleaned up the buttons and antiX button on a on all, and trimmed some more on the thin theme, and made a bit more contrast on the active vs inactive items on the taskbar and menu.

        If anyone would try them and look for opportunities to improve them it would be nice.

        Any ideas for a matching wallpaper?

          Damn, I personally hate grey colors, but you made a very peaceful greyscale I guess. I like tan more, but you did the whole directory, so I could now just make my own tan time :D.
          Glad to see a fellow ____SHOP artist. I like your work good person!

          I Also spent a lot of time with .xmp(i think) to make neofetch ascii art. So anyone who want’s any of those, please ask, and I will help with something I’m actually good at…

          I will try your ICE theme soon, sorry, I have yet to try all default ICEWM themes, lol. I seldom run it, but I love ricing simple WMs! Thanks dude, great work!

          Howdy Jessie.

            Thanks. I appreciate the compliments. I replaced my tiling setup with IceWM because it’s fast, even on older machines, has all kinds of ability for programming, and has great support. Here is a pic with a tweaked GreenPeace wallpaper…

              Hallo BobC,
              sorry had a couple of rough days, first impression really nice.
              Theme: Black magic thin
              Can i turn off showing the workspace numbers somehow, not so attractive shown together with the application icons,
              In the taskbar day date time, 24 hour clock the hour is shown larger than rest. Looks a little out of balance.
              LO Writer starting with the menu symbol in task bar as showing top left in window bar. Probably an issue with my
              choice of icons.
              Light grey circle around X for closing is slightly too large causing it to be cut off at bottom.
              Frame corners look ragged on my 1920×1280 screen.

                Moddit. Thanks for checking it for me.

                1. The theme cannot control whether workspace numbers appear on the taskbar or not. That is controlled by your preferences, and possibly preferences.override
                the line to add would be
                TaskBarShowWorkspaces=0

                2. The clock font is the same as the others in the theme. Maybe you have something else overriding it to be larger or the others to be smaller. The line that controls it is
                ClockFontNameXft= "carlito:size=11"

                3. The “misfit” close buttons were actually done on purpose to keep a large, obvious close button on a small title bar. I could make it smaller, but if I did, it would be harder to notice.

                4. I have gone through and edited every piece of every frame view to try to round the corners better and create a slight border. The simple theme you showed me had a very prominent top border, and the one I started with had almost none, so what I did was to add a more prominent border, but just enough that you know it’s there.

                I also lightened up my tweaked GreenPeace IcePack wallpaper that I’m using.

                I repackaged it as recommended by the IceWM Devs into one theme per tar archive designed to be easily installed in the ~/.icewm/themes folder or other themes folder as shown by Roky.

                The pic shown on this post is the Thin version with all the above changes incorporated. Try again, please and see if it’s improved.

                  @BobC,
                  Many thanks, workspace numbers and clock font size, strange, jumped at me after I changed the theme.

                  I will check out the settings again later.

                  BTW: I had to use windows 10 to update my Nikon D7000, it, windows that is has been updating since
                  about 08:45. More than 4 hours. Once it is finished I can plug the SSD back in and return to sanity.

                  On the Greenpeace background, I was looking at a couple of melting ice themes yesterday and thinking
                  about adding an antiX logo. We have November 14, when I first moved here it was cold at this time,
                  we often had snow. Today the sun is shining, feels like late summer.

                  Maybe also partialy due to lack of Vapour trails. One advantage of the present situation.

                    Yes, my latest Windows 7 update took 3 days, lol…

                    Windows 10 was much faster, only 6 hours last time, and that’s on a quad processor I7 with 16 GB high speed memory and a 500 gb high speed SSD.

                    It amazes me that people are willing to suffer with such garbage code. I use it for work because I’m required to, but otherwise, forget it, LOL.

                    I may tweak that wallpaper a bit more…. Time for a nap, here. It was a productive night.

                        This is a zoomed in slightly enhanced view of the same IcePack scene… Luckily these pics are pretty small…

                          Still not figured out how come sometimes workspace numbers were shown.
                          Partial reset, i think some of my settings conflicted.

                          To show 6 workspaces without numbers

                          #ADDED PREFERENCE FOR 6 WORKSPACES
                          WorkspaceNames=””,””,””,””,””,””

                          # Show workspace switching buttons on task bar
                          TaskBarShowWorkspaces=1 # 0/1

                          # Limit number of taskbar workspaces CHANGED, standard in antiX 2, 10 just in case needed.
                          TaskBarWorkspacesLimit=10

                          This maybe also works, will try later with the pager preeview setting.
                          # Show number of workspace on workspace button (if PagerShowPreview=1)
                          # PagerShowNumbers=0 # 0/1

                          Clock font, will change from default Icewm.

                            I’ve had that kind of thing happen before if I had the same setting twice. Look and see if you have the same setting again in preferences or preferences.override. It uses the last one it finds. Also, maybe put a space between the double quotes for each workspace.

                              Hey, complete Antix newbie. I’ve installed the 32 bit version on an old HP laptop that I love and still runs quickly and beautifully. Was a 2.000 dollar laptop in its day and I got what I paid for. Antix is great. I was going to post my newbie screenshot, then saw someone had used a clear/glass theme on the panel. Maybe I’m just being blind, but is there a Tint2 Settings module somewhere? Where do I change the theming for the panel? (All I can find are the preset themes.) Edit: Had assumed that Antix uses Tint2. Now I see that it doesn’t. Am sorting out how to use Tint2. Any tips welcome.

                                Vtpoet, it’s best to open a new thread for questions like that.

                                Did you install tint2? antiX doesn’t come with tint2. If you are using it as shipped, the default desktop is IceWM. It has a built in taskbar and tray. From the main menu, you will see Preferences, where you will find you can see and change many on/off options. If you want to see/change all options from the main menu go to Control Centre, then Desktop, then IceWM settings, then the Preferences tab. Info on IceWM is available from the Help option off the main menu or from the web. After changing Preferences you would need to save them, then restart IceWM from the main menu Logout option.

                                Welcome to antiX. 32 bit systems are still supported and run well on antiX.

                                If you have more questions, please create a separate topic, and there are lots of people here that are happy to help.
