::In my opinion the best theme for Antix, I’m using it on my desktop and laptop.
Just a small point. Buttons minimize and maximize are not aligned orizzontally to close button in both of my PC.
Thanks again for your work.- This reply was modified 1 year ago by silvioto.

::Actually, all of the buttons were a normal, small size, and were hard for me to see, so I “SuperSized” the Close button with respect to the thinned down title bar so it would be easy to see and click on, since it’s the one most often used.
If you think the minimize and maximize icons should also be larger or change to different colors, you could change them on yours and post pics and the files in a zipfile here like the ones I posted originally. If people like them, we could ask anti to include them.

Hi Bob- Silvioto raised a question I noticed but forgot to mention when I tested your theme – the up and down arrows are some pixels below where I think they should ideally be – if you imagine a circle around them, with the symbols in the middle it, like there is around the “X”, you would see the lower part of the circle out of the title bar – I think that’s what Silvioto means- there’s nothing wrong with the theme itself, but it “messes” with my sense of symmetry (and his too, it seems).

How to edit…. one by one, drag the xpm resource files into a text editor
maximizeA.xpm
maximizeI.xpm
maximizeO.xpm
minimizeA.xpm
minimizeI.xpm
minimizeO.xpmWithin an xpm file, colorcode assignment are declared followed by a comma-delimited array (list?) of content for each line (row). Moving one or more of the leading “blank line” items to the end (bottom) of the list will shift upward the lines describing the pixels for the “caret” character.

::The problem was, and still is that the pictures are very difficult to modify if you don’t have the right tools or don’t know how to use them.
As I recall, I didn’t know a good way to move the graphics within the pictures to make them all the same. I’m not a graphics pro, and fixed the close buttons with brute force out of desperation. I don’t think I did it perfectly.
I wonder if we could copy a better set of buttons form another theme instead?

Thanks for the info – I didn’t know that. But I’m old school, I’ll try to do it the GUI way, with GIMP
@BobC- I’ll try to take a stab at the files tomorrow…

::I adapted the buttons from another theme, but they are rectangular rather than round. I have it working with the medium size, but it needs to work with all sizes. I’ll post it tonight or tomorrow.
Maybe I’ll find another button set I like better by then.
Ps, iznit, that’s interesting. I never knew or would have guessed that

::I used iznit’s idea and redid the buttons. If you extract it to the ~/.icewm/themes folder it should install them all.
Let me know if there are any problems…

::The three buttons is perfectly aligned now.
Thanks a lot, I would see this theme as default in the next antix release!July 1, 2022 at 2:48 pm #85450Member

::Hi @BobC.
I have been trying your antiX-Magic-Huge4K theme on my Huge 4K monitor. Thanks for this theme and your effort.
1. I scaled fonts changing “Set Font size DPI” from Antix Control Center.
2. Looks better but there are still some details to adjust (icon sizes, panel height with their widget icon sizes inside panel, network, sound, etc).
3. I was reading some messages from this forum and tried changing mainly
/usr/share/icewm/themes/antiX-Magic-Huge4K #default.theme file on that dirand I was reviewing config files from: ~/.fluxbox and ~/.icewm… I did not find specific areas or parameters to change. It seems Theme does not scale fine between their elements
Could you please provide some hints or reference to materials study, regarding this customization tasks?. Please advice
Regards, Francisco

::Francisco,
I think this post from Nov 2020 is maybe what you need. My themes are for IceWM only, and this is not related to HDMI sound. I suggest searching for it, and if you don’t find anything that helps, create a separate thread for it.
Ok, to make the largest ones work I needed to make the height of the area used by the clock text a bit taller. This value needs to be changed in ~/.icewm/preferences
# Height of taskbar monitoring applets
TaskBarGraphHeight=24 # [16-1000]The Huge4K one also needed a font size 2.0 on my 3840×2160 screen. The rest worked with the default 1.0 fontsize.

It is ok, no sound problems after installing pulseaudio.

TaskBarGraphHeight=80, was much better for me. This is a JVC 65 inches 4k display I want to use it as our home STB Set Top Box.
Taskbar monitoring applets are too narrow now. I Tested:
# Width of taskbutton side icons TaskbuttonIconOffset=12 # [0-16] # Maximum scaled width of tray icons TrayIconMaxWidth=32 # [16-128]I will continue testing this config.
It is a good idea to have in AntiX repository somethig like “AntiX dotfiles” with config set of files.
This could be an item for that repo. Thanks again for your kind help.
Francisco.

::Its too bad that IceWM wouldn’t allow me to override those values in the theme itself. IMO, that would be the best solution, because you could change to a different theme which would need different values.

::And the IceWM DEVs came through for us again!
In the next version of IceWM, this will work in theme files:
# Height of taskbar monitoring applets
TaskBarGraphHeight=24 # [16-1000]and, If you don’t like the one in the theme file, you can override it with an entry in prefoverride

::So happened b4 I stumbled upon this post I was browsing for icewm themes and found Materia-Briz-Dark by rainerhg7 and did some tweaks to it. I changed the grey to a bit more warm grey and also fixed the colors of the mem/network/cpu diagnostic icons at the taskbar (right most part of the toolbar). I also tried for fun to changed the color of the toolbar to purple for purplish wallpaper. Anyway, I am pleased that I now know how to tweak it.
