::ahoppin:
Good points.
I’ve built systems from antiX Core that resemble other distributions.
Many years ago I built antiX Core Xfce. A few years later MX Linux appeared with a MEPIS follow up and they switched from MEPIS KDE to MX Linux Xfce.
Ironically that’s what the distribution community did when one distro ended and the next one started.

::I use both Antix and mxlinux, and I think an update checker for Antix would be a great addition. In particular, something like mx-updater

::@fatboy, antiX Updater already exists. It is in the Software tab of the Control Centre and on the Applications|antiX menu in IceWM.

::Hi all-team,
1)@robin :Appreciates your kind inputs with the in-depth explanations to such an extend, good work.
2)@Brian Masinick : Good simple illustration of explanation.
3)@ahoppin : thanks for this explanation on choices.Thank you all assistants here, I think I would explore/experiment with it as it goes by, looks like I need to spend some time digest these inputs.
Good Day and Good bye.

::@fatboy, you can install
apt-notifier
You afterwards uncomment it in the desktop-session startup file and it will put an icon in your taskbar that also reminds you if something can get updated.

::Appreciates your kind tinkles. But I’m afraid I am trying to stay with IceWM which is my preferred WM (more lightweight compare to Xfce which was/is also my favorite.)
As for ZzzFileManager, I thought this one can be selected during the startup slimki login? I had bypass this slimki login because I have had selected default IceWm setup in startup.Newmant1, I hope that after the explanations from all the people who shared their knowledge on this topic, that you can apply the PPC tutorial to configure the trash in the zzzFM (from antiX 21) or SpaceFM (from antiX 19.4) file manager. This setting will work for the window managers that are available in antiX IceWM, JWM and Fluxbox. Herbstluftwm I still couldn’t learn how to operate this window manager.
You mentioned the importance of having tutorials, I totally agree with you, however there are already several tutorials around the antiX forum, I know they are hard to find. Unfortunately I missed the moment to welcome you, normally I write for newcomers in the antiX community the text below:
“Regardless of your level of knowledge about GNU/Linux, I recommend you read these excellent tutorials created by @PPC:
Short essential how-to list for the complete Linux newbie and How-to install applications – 2020 version.”
I hope these tutorials can be useful to clarify your main doubts, another source of knowledge with several tutorials are in the language area Portuguese. I know it will be extra work for you, having to translate to your language with the help of internet translators and still having to interpret machine translations. Well, this way you will experience the same experience that I have every day to communicate with people on this forum, as I can’t read or write in English language.
You have already noticed that here you and all people interested in learning are always very welcome, be patient and don’t be in a hurry to learn, very soon you will be able to help other people here on the forum. Exactly a year and six months ago I arrived on this forum and I was very well received, as you were, since then I have been learning from the various teachers and masters who are always participating in this forum, as far as possible I also try to help the other people and so everyone evolves by sharing knowledge.
My greetings.

Short essential how-to list for the complete Linux newbie e How-to install applications – 2020 version.”
Meus cumprimentos.

::@MarceloCripe: You have indeed learned a great deal, and I am confident that you are still learning and improving. You’re already a helpful contributor in the forum, and your comments, helpful suggestions, suggestions, and solutions are always respected, valued, and appreciated, as are the comments of many people.
Thanks to all who make this a helpful place for people to use freely available software, and to return the “gift” by being helpful to others.
Season’s greetings and best wishes to you and everyone who visits this forum.
