      Hello everyone!

I’m new to AntiX linux but I already like it! I can’t figure out why simple screen recorder or audacity doesn’t record sound from the laptop(I mean it’s possible to record sound from microphone, but not from games/software). At first I decided to find an answer on forums, but there are opposite issues(Like it’s not possible to record sound FROM microphone). I’ve already checked if something is muted in alsamixer and no, anything is muted there.

I’m using a HP Pavilion 15 with amd a8-6410 cpu, running Antix 19_1 Base on it. Super sorry if I forgot to add some more info, I’m not sure what do I need to tell more 🙁

In audacity, you need to select your sound input source.

        Menu>Edit>Devices>Recording

        Linux (& BSD) since 1999

Thanks for the info. I’ve tried all options there and it still recording sound from a microphone instead of system sounds 🙁

Iirc you need to make a copy of the output device and a copy of an input device bridge them to their copies and then add them together to a loopback device. Then you can adjust for volumes on the copies / mute and unmute as well as disconnect the loop. It has been quite awhile since I have played with this though so unfortunately I do not remember any of the commands needed
