As the title say, I installed Antix 17 on a working system with Ubuntu 10.04, Firfox was working. Now, I tried all the browser available and no one works: FF, Chromium and Opera won’t even start. Palemoon and Qupzilla crash after few seconds loading a page. Netfront after almost loading a page…Dillo…too simple to be useful…The rest of the system works perfectly. Network access is very fast in upgrading the system from reps. THe 512MB are verified with memtest86…3 pass ok.

      What can I do? TIA

Have a look at my comments in this thread.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

First of all, thanks for your fast reply!
OK, I get it it was the adobe flash plugin…in ubuntu is an optional install…
          as soone as I did:
          apt-get purge adobe-flashplugin

FF and the other browsers start working. Still, the PC is just an Athlon XP 1700+, with no sse2…but with 3Dnow (AMD equivalent) and cannot install nVidia driver for the GeForce 5200…so video from the web is unusable…any idea for this? TIA

For video you could use smtube or mps-youtube.

…liked SMtube…but can only stream non-protected content…Gnome mpv can stream well DVDs do…only clumsy that you have to specify open position and then enter /media/sr0… could not find a way to just play the device…but anyway GOOD WORK!
