No Internet – Taskbar customize

Hi everybody,
have just tried the antix 19 from a live USB drive; like the little use of RAM and good control, especially Space FM integrated.

But some essential is missing:
conman system tray shows the WiFi’s but there is no option to connect…??? No button… have tried with right click, nothing.
Also no network Icon in the task-bar.
wpa_gui doesn’t show any WiFi’s…

Another:
Is there an option to place app icons in the task bar like the ones which are there already (left side – for firefox)?
Or an option to place apps to the main menu ?

Hello, rolfarius.

Next time you are able to start the live USb system, once it starts, go to Control Centre > network > Wifi (Connman).
Depending on if you are testing FULL or BASE version, something different will happen.

On Base, a new icon will appear in the taskbar. Right click and enable WIFI (there is a slider). Then HOLD leftclick on it and select your WIFI access point.

On Full, a new window will appear. In the current Technologies tab, slide the WIFI option to ON. Then you will be able to connect to your access point in the Wireless tab. Only enter the password and that should be enough.

If using Icewm, I think there is an icewm app developed by the good members in the forum. Toolbar Icon Manager for IceWM (Menu > Applications > antiX > IceWM Toolbar Icon Manager)

Thanks a lot Xecure, yes there is an icewm app and it worked perfect. Also I found the Wireless tab in Connman.
Soon I’ll install the 19 full version.
