      Hello,
      I use antiX on my laptop with live-usb and I noticed that there are no notifications when the battery is completely discharged (0%). Fortunately I have a conky that allows me to react but I did a test and my laptop just went out without warning. How can this be remedied?

        Hi pat-sen,
        I use this script on my laptop. You may have to modify it for yours, but it might work until you find something better 🙂

        #! /bin/bash
        while true; do
        sleep 60
        grep Discharging /sys/class/power_supply/BAT1/status || continue
        B=$(cat /sys/class/power_supply/BAT1/capacity)
        case $B in
             1[0-9]) yad --on-top --timeout 60 --text "Battery is at $B%" &
             ;;
             [0-9]) yad --timeout 4 --text "Low battery shutdown" --button "Cancel"
             [[ $? -eq 70 ]] && sudo /sbin/poweroff
             ;;
        esac
        done

            I’m using powerkit to monitor the battery. It’s not in the repos, you can get it from http://github.com/rodlie/powerkit. You will need to compile it. It has a couple of dependencies, but it was easy enough to do.

            I can’t vouch for how accurate it is because this machine is always plugged in, but when I remove the ac the icon in the system tray does change to battery.
