I have written several times (recently here) about the serious problems I faced while using the 4.9 kernel in two old laptops, problems that forced me to use the 4.4 kernel, which is not supported anymore.
The good news is that no such problems seem to exist in antiX-21. The 4.9 kernel seems to work fine, at least as regards the one of the machines.
