and see if any errors pop up.
While it is running in the terminal, try to see if a notification pops up.
Not all programs are created to use notification, so it is possible that your network manager doesn’t send notifications. Use a program that you are sure does send notifications (maybe VLC?) to test if dunst is working properly.I think antiX 19 comes with notify-osd. I don’t know if that interferes with anything, so not sure.
For me, doing
notify-send Test "test"
works.antiX Live system enthusiast.

Hi. Test dunst like Xecure advised above, to see if there’s any problem with it. On my system, a notification warns me when I get any new e-mail in Thunderbird, I haven’t tested it with claws or any other e-mail client. I never noticed any notification when connecting to wi-fi networks… let me test that and get back to you…

Edit: true- it seems that not even running connman with an icon on the system tray notifies the user that the system is connected to a network… But, at least, if you have the icon on the tray, you see it change when you are connected to a network Connman- network settings window > Settings > Check if “Launch to tray by default” and “use status icon” are ticked. {Warning: having the tray icon, of course, costs you a little RAM. If works a like a regular network icon- click it to select an wi-fi network, etc… If you close the icon, you do not close your network connect}

::Cannot acquire ‘org.freedesktop.Notifications’: Name is acquired by PID ‘5120’
See what is the name of the process for PID 5120
ps -p 5120 -o comm=
Then you can learn the name of the culprit (and if necessary, uninstall it)Kill the process 5120 and test dunst again
kill -9 5120Moreover, no notification while connecting to internet.
As stated by PPC, connman does not seem to send notifications. If you have the cmst connman icon in the systemtray, you can enable pop-up notices (but they are not notifications per-se), in Preferences, System tary “Enable System Tray Popups” and “System Tray Notifications”.

::Sorry for necroposting, but I found this thread when doing research on these warnings:

BadAccess (attempt to access private resource denied)
Unable to grab key “ctrl+space”I start dunst via ~/.desktop-session/startup and got them in my ~/.desktop-session/current.log when starting an IceWM session.
The cause was that IceWM also uses this shortcut to start app-select, so I decided to disable it in ~/.config/dunst/dunstrc .
I also had to change history = ctrl+grave to history = ctrl+dead_circumflex , as the key “grave” does not exist on my german
keyboard.- This reply was modified 6 months, 1 week ago by seriousness.
