Hello Friends
I installed pavucontrol (Pulseaudio Volume Control) but if I open it I get this message:
Connection to PulseAudio failed. Automatic retry in 5s. In this case this is likely because PULSE_SERVER in the Environment/X11 Root Window Properties or default-server in clientconf is misconfigured. This situation can also arrise when PulseAudio crashed and left stale details in the X11 Root Window. If this is the case, then PulseAudio should autospawn again, or if this is not configured you should run start-pulseaudio-x11 manually.How do I make numlock turn on automatically upon logging in to antiX?
When I was using an old version of Lubuntu, these are the steps I would do:sudo apt-get install numlockx sudo leafpad /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf add the following line: greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx onThank you.

::To start pulseaudio
pulseaudio --startPulseaudio should autostart after reboot, though.
Hmmm, if you have installed antiX17.4 pulsaudio isn’t installed by default.May 23, 2019 at 11:39 am #21961Anonymous

you can insert a line into your ~/desktop-session/startup file stating:
numlockx on &ControlCenter }} Session }} User Desktop-Session
this will load the startup file (and other, related files) in a tabbed editor, ready for editing
(good idea to skim/read these config files to learn “what’s where”)I installed pavucontrol (Pulseaudio Volume Control) but
its package only “Recommends” pasystray, but pasystray may be necessary…
so, I’ll suggest running this command
sudo apt-get –yes install pulseaudio pavucontrol pasystray paman
(no harm, apt will skip any already installed items listed above)then
sudo killall pulseaudio
pulseaudio –start & pavucontrolMay 26, 2019 at 11:17 am #22053Member

::… Maybe it’s better to add into an other file (free of future updates of /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf)
sudo apt-get install numlockx sudo leafpad /usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/01_my.conf add the following line: [Seat:*] greeter-setup-script=/usr/bin/numlockx onMay 27, 2019 at 5:09 am #22084Memberkaye

::kaye, here you learn 2 things:
2)
you should never copy/paste from a webpage (or other richtext document) to terminal commandline.
There’s no guarantee that “what you see, in browser, will be the actual characters pasted.1)
antixforum is using WordPress as a platform for the forum. It MANGLES certain characters.
In this case, it converted two adjacent “minus minus” characters into a “dash” character.May 27, 2019 at 8:07 am #22099Anonymous

antiX doesn’t ship LightDM.
If you decide to install LightDM, it would ignore the ~/desktop-session/startup file… so you would need to come up with another plan. (I don’t use LightDM, so can’t assist with that)May 27, 2019 at 9:59 am #22105Member

::… FI: This solution work here. (/usr/share/lightdm/lightdm.conf.d/01_my.conf — instead to: — /etc/lightdm/lightdm.conf)

A workaround here:

::Hey skidoo, this was successful:
sudo apt-get –yes install pulseaudio pavucontrol pasystray paman
but this was not:
$ sudo killall pulseaudio pulseaudio: no process foundEdit:
Nevermind. It seems to be working anyway.- This reply was modified 3 years, 11 months ago by kaye.
