on every boot an error is displayed, inxi
missing UDEV rules Could not install Nvidia.
To my old eyes it looks like the card is in use
but the ruleset creation definitely failed, there are no NVIDIA rules in /etc/udev.inxi -G below.
Device-1: NVIDIA GF116 [GeForce GTX 550 Ti] driver: nvidia v: 390.138

::I don’t know how important the nvidia udev rules are.
You could try reinstalling and see what messages pop up during the nvidia driver installation.
Chack the folder /etc/udev/rules.d/ and /lib/udev/rules.d/.
No idea how it works with nvidia. Not much info in a google search.antiX Live system enthusiast.

::You mean this message?
udevd[190]: Error running install command for nvidia
Which also appears in the dmesgdmesg | grep nvidia
On all my installations(different hardware) where the nvidia driver is installed, this message appears and so far no problems occurred. You can check if the driver works properly with
glxgears
When three gears turn everything should be fine.September 17, 2020 at 1:52 am #41803MemberModdIt
::thanks Xsecure and caprea. gears works and inxi G told me card in use.
I did some searches before asking, agree not much found even @ arch which is unusual.there is no Nvidia entry in either /etc/udev/rules.d/ and /lib/udev/rules.d/ and
as unsure if that is of importance decided to ask. Maybe I will paste in a ruleset
if I can find one somewhere and see what happens, otherwise will just ignore the message
and enjoy the graphics performance. :-).Side note:
I did not realise how good my old LG monitor really is.
The one where I described how to fix defective Power supply capacitors some months ago.Problem, signal quality from old computer. Imaging degraded and monitor screaming in pain(noisy).
Unfortunately the saved from junk old box has no AGP graphics card slot so no upgrade.. -
