      How can I permanently change the time format from “%H:%M:%S” to “%d %H:%M”? Thanks.

        For icewm?

        https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/time-format-in-tray-reverts/#post-23875

        Ok, again this is for AntiX19 32bit. I left click on time in tray and chose date option. It shows date with time like I want. However on reboot its back to the minimalist four digit time display. Is there a way to make my chosen option persist?

        I have no idea how IceWM works, to be honest, as I use fluxbox.
        Have a look at this:
        ~/.icewm/preferences
        Pay attention to line 64, “Time Format” and 65, “Date Format”.
        Modify the clock by right clicking as you did before.
        If the preference file doesn’t change the contents in line 64 and 65, then IceWM doesn’t save these changes at all.
        To make the IceWM changes permanent, you will have to manually modify the preferences file. For example:
        TimeFormat="%A, %Y/%m/%d, %H:%M"
        This would look like = Saturday, 2019/06/26 18:00

        The changes will take effect when you restart session: Logout > Restart Session
        The changes will take place once you restart IceWM. In the Menu, moving the mouse on the arrow at the end of “Logout…” will displya a submenu. Select the option “Restart IceWM”.

        I hope this helps.

          I added to ~/.icewm/preferences this line:

          TimeFormat="%Y/%m/%d %H:%M"

          I restarted the session and the changes took effect.
          Many thanks. And sorry for wasting your time by asking about something so elementary.

            Don’t worry about it, no time is waisted if we reach our destination.
            I didn’t know how to change stuff when I started with antiX and soon learned that most changes will require editing files. I first started out searching the forum for fluxbox stuff, then the net and now I experiment. Once you get used to it, you will look forward to editing files to change things instead.

            It’s good you solved your problem and learnt something at the same time.
