If you get a 503 error even if only briefly: Please give the time and what they were doing when it occurred.
Answer in this thread if possible, or PM or Email me and I will make sure your issues are addressed; this is a follow up request from our Website administrator. Thanks!

::Add either 403 or 503 errors please. We had another brief outage; our website admin is now monitoring, has disabled additional plugins to search for a cause. Some things will look different until we reach a conclusion on the issue.
Feedback appreciated; thanks!

::Hi, no 503 error but I report it here anyway: I use the following bookmark to look for the latest topics:
https://www.antixforum.com/forums/view/latest-topics/
I get a page that says “Oops! That page can’t be found.” See attachment.
It’s been like that since after the first outage.

::Thanks; I’ve passed that along so that we can correct it once we’re sure that everything else has been stabilized.

::Here is a clarification on the current situation:
“PM are temporarily disabled.
At this time only the default WordPress search is available. There is a search page. It comes up but with no additional options to search.
Any page that says “Oops! That page can’t be found.” is because that feature comes from a plugin that is temporarily disabled.
The option for quotes in replies comes from a plugin that is temporarily disabled.”

The server is temporarily unable to service your request due to maintenance downtime or capacity problems. Please try again later.
Additionally, a 503 Service Unavailable error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.Tried to view recent posts

::Thanks. The Web Master agrees.
When we disabled the plugins, some aspects of the forum seemed to improve.
The Web server, unfortunately, still seems to be having problems so we’re still attempting to get to a better place.
Hopefully it will happen soon.

::Suggestion,
1. disable forum search and suggest using web search instead, or actually do that from the forum search option. Just guessing search takes a lot of server effort.
2. if size of database is causing trouble, keep 2 or 3 years online and move older posts to another separate archive similar to pre 2017 posts.January 10, 2023 at 4:21 pm #97098Moderator

If anticapitalista agrees, this may simplify backups and search performance.

::Another note for people since we’ve disabled many of the forum plugins:
* IF you want to read the latest messages, select the “Recent Posts” in
the “Forum” drop down menu just below the antiX-forum graphic.* Then in the column containing “Last Post”, click on the date for
the topic you wish to examine, and it’ll go to the most recent post
in that thread. We USED to have a circle on the left side of the topic listing, and
clicking on that would show the most recent post; clicking on the
date will accomplish the same thing: view the most recent post, with
a dialogue box below where you can respond, if you wish.--

::10.1.2023 21:44 (MEZ) While trying to access the “https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/live-desktop-freezes-unfreeze/” thread for reading from recent postings: 503.
After approx. 5 Minutes I retried and forum showed everything properly again. But:
While trying to post the issue here 21:55 MEZ, no “submit” button was available. Next check was 22:39 MEZ, still no posting possible due to missing button.

I’ve logged off and logged on again, but no difference. I can’t reply to any thread, while other people seem to be able to post.
Clicking “helpful” badges works the same time.
After checking html source of the site I found out: actually the submit button element is present, but it is invisible:

Hence I was finally able to send this message, by clicking blindly on the position where I expected the button to exist.
Hope this helps to trace down the 503 issue.
