(2 minute outage seen just before posting this):

The inxi command works for me as a moderator, but the line:

Type: mmio_stale_data status: Not affected is probably tripping up the output.

Again, as Caprea suggests, an inxi -zv7 output should avoid the issue, e.g.:

      inxi -zv7

        2) There is a new button, “Mark all topics as read” that seemingly does nothing.”
        Currently disabled

Until now it worked here when I tried it.

        3) Reload the (main forum) page newly requires to confirm to resend the information or cancel/deny.

This behaviour wasn’t there always during the last hours, I’ve just seen it for the first time.

I think it is too early to form an opinion. It is all still in an experimental stage. As Brian Masinick already stated, the web master will be able to continue her help tomorrow.

the word data followed by colon does trigger it.

Many thanks for your great hint! That actually was the issue. I simply removed the colon from all instances, and submission worked fine after this.

Our webmaster does plan on doing more work on the forum today.

Unfortunately I have several things that I am doing today so I won’t be monitoring as much as most weekdays.

Acknowledged by the webmaster, who is looking for the right plugins to provide both features and performance; it’s getting better, but the work is not yet quite complete. The outages have not been 100% wiped out (yet) but when I got on the forum this morning, I DID notice that the performance and response is the best I’ve seen it in at least 2-3 years, now comparable to other forums I visit; unfortunately I also saw one 503 outage this morning, but it was restarted in no more than 2 minutes.

                      Progress; not quite finished.

Not an issue in literal sense, but a feature request, which possibly might help to reduce server load: Could the board get a “preview” functionality which shows the result of what is typed into the reply field before actually posting it? This would avoid multiple editing of a posting in short intervals after it was submitted initially. It is not that easy to see whether formatting was successfully done, especially when you have to write in a foreign language. Also spelling errors in foreign language are difficult to spot in between all the additional formatting codes. Hence the absence of this preview feature causes sometimes an posting needs to be edited 4 to 10 times in short intervals before all is fixed as intended, instead of submitting it a single time. Well, maybe the server load (or local system load from browser on weak machines) of a preview function could be worse than this type of short interval editing of postings immediately after initial posting, which would be contraproductive. This is something I don’t know and can’t decide. So please take it just a proposal.

In the first two or three years of this forum it was displayed at the very bottom of the start page how many people are currently visiting the forum, how many are logged in and also who.
I found this feature interesting and miss it a bit.

Just want to confirm that Private Messages are not expected to be working.

I did a search but not finding anything current info on private messages, but I may have missed it.

                                Thank you!
