The version which seems to have this bug, as noted above is 19.2.1 base 32 bit.

The file ~/.desktop-session/startup which is automatically created for the demo user when using live-usb, and then copied to all users created later, has a small but irksome typo.

In the section that handles pulseaudio, the command is given as:

      #pulseaudio -d &

While the # is expected, so it stays commented out when you haven’t installed it, the option after pulseaudio should be “-D” (Note capital D, not lowercase).

With lowercase “-d”, it fails to run at boot. With “-D” it works as expected.

I realize this is trivial to fix manually, but hope that it can be put into the next bugfix, like 19.2.2.

Restore older computers to working order.
Computers everyone else insists are obsolete and useless.

      Current recordholder:
Generic Pentium III 600 Mhz with 512Mb RAM and 10Gb HD
Working on Cyrix M2 333 Mhz with 64Mb RAM and OS on IDE to SD card 4Gb

        Fixed! Thanks.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
