Hi again, All (whoever that is):

I was just messing about with a Ruby script that’s working just fine. BUT when I try to launch the desktop icon I made to call on it (just because I like my own custom made icons) in PCManFM, I keep getting an Invalid Desktop Icon Message after a sub menu pops up asking if I want to execute it.

After a huge amount of tinkering, like all of two minutes, I found that I don’t have that problem in zzz FM; all I need to is right click the icon and go Open -> Execute. Just double clicking the icon opens it up in Leafpad. So, I can still run it well enough. But not in PCManFM for some reason.

So, is PCManFM just not able to launch desktop icons in iceWM? OR is there some sort of workaround?

Either way is fine. I realize that PCManFM is geared for LXDE, not iceWM, Fluxbox, nor JWM. I just want to know if I should just not bother trying to use PCManFM to launch desktop icons in a normal antiX session or not.

      Thanks in advance!

What have the Romans ever done for us?
Apart from: sanitation, medicine, education, wine, public order, irrigation, roads, fresh water, and public health?

My opinion is to use zzzFM as it is lighter on RAM and offers many more features than PCManFM.
Or, even better IMO, learn how to use the incredibly powerful (and often misunderstood) rox-filer.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

          Thanks, anticapitalista.

I was just using PCManFM because it’s familiar.

I’ll spend more time learning zzzFM and Rox a bit better.
