I am using live antiX 17.2 with persistence on a thumb drive on a laptop with an extra monitor.
I set the two monitors in Control Center > Session >Set Screen Resolution and saved the settings.
However, the settings do not stay when I reboot. I have to reset them each time.
How can I get the settings to be maintained?
Also, after working on this for a while, the brightness on my laptop goes dim each time I reboot and I have to reset it brighter with the FN and up and down keys. (note: initially this was not a problem)
How can I get the brightness to remain up between rebooting?
Thanks for the help.

I figured out how to fix the initial problem of maintaining the setup for resolution and monitors. I thought I would post this in case anyone else needs a solution.
-go to control center > session > set screen resolution
-make change and save to /home/(login username)/.screenlayout and name .monitor.sh
-change permissions to username instead of root and add check marks in group boxes
-go to control center > session >user desktop-session > startup tab. At the end of the list, add the line: /home/(username)/.screenlayout/.monitor.sh
Now, when you boot up, the change in resolution or monitor setup will return to the saved setup.
The latter problem re the screen dimming still exists.
Please let me know if anyone has some idea of how to fix it.
Thanks
