    With the latest update, I think of desktop-session-antix, I have three application menus. In English, in Italian.
    It’s a bug?

    Thanks

    I cannot reproduce this. Can anyone else?
    I tried stretch, buster, testing and sid versions of antiX.

    Dave suggests editing desktop-menu file in /usr/local/bin (as root):

    Changing the line (c276) from

    open((USER_HOME+”/”+Var.Conf_Dir+”/”+Var.App_File), ‘w’).close()

    to the slightly longer

    text = file((USER_HOME+”/”+Var.Conf_Dir+”/”+Var.App_File), “w”)
    text.close()

    Seems to correct the issue.

    With that change nothing changes.
    If I try to install a package with apt from an error …
    I add that the same error is identical on two machines that I have installed Antix.

    Thanks

    Quotation marks were wrong, but the result does not change …
    (only the apt error has disappeared).

    The indentation is also incorrect. Needs to be spaced (with spaces not tab) till it is 4 spaces in past else: in line with the “:”.
    Git was not working for me before but I will try again now. That way you can download the file and try it rather than edit the file.

    Could you also post the output of
    ls -l /usr/share/desktop-menu/.fluxbox/menu-applications

    Edit:
    Git seems to be working today.
    File can be found here

    Thanks Dave,
    The link answers me: ¨Page Not Found ¨…

    This is the output:

    ls -l /usr/share/desktop-menu/.fluxbox/menu-applications
    -rw-r–r– 1 root root 25660 ago 4 17:05 /usr/share/desktop-menu/.fluxbox/menu-applications

    I have the same issue but not in Italian. This duplicate menu exists only in Fluxbox and IceWM. What is interesting is that the lower menu contains the programs that were user installed and that came with the distribution. The upper menu contains only the programs that came with the distribution. The JWM menu contains only one menu but holds only the programs that came with the distribution. I attempted the root alteration of the menu file but to no avail. This issue definitely arrived with the desktop update that I installed today.

    I assume you are all using default stretch repos, right?

    I can now confirm the bug and Dave’s fix does fix it for me.
