      Dear all,
      roughly beginning 2021 I was still owning a Macbook Pro 32 bit, and I remember that there I could use Skype also if the 32 bit version wasn’t anymore supported.

      The trick was that I had installed chromium on that Mac and I could use Skype through the Chromium browser, at the address: https://www.skype.com/it/features/skype-web/

      Now I have an old toshiba 32 bit on which I want to use Skype in the same way, but unfortunately the evolution of Chromium is coherent to the one of Chrome, and this year’s version doesn’t let me use Skype.

      So my idea is to install an older version of Chromium and dedicate that Chromium ONLY for the use of Skype.

      Questions:
      1. do you think that this is a bad idea for security problems? Also if I plan to use it only for Skype?
      2. do you think that there are other negative aspects?

      Many thanks in advance

          Hi, you could also try this:
          Install chromium and an add-on akin to user-agent switcher, try switch the user agent to latest chromium.
          I used it once on (an up-to-date) Firefox pretending to be a chromium-based browser and it (not sure if Skype or MS Teams or something completely else) worked well.

            @sybok

            It works!!! 🙂

            So, in order to have Skype working on a 32 bit pc, using Firefox, I added the add-on named “User-Agent Switcher and Manager” by Ray, I set it up in order to foolish SkypeWeb and make it to believe that I am running a Chrome browser.

            And it works.

            Many thanks

            Sorry to be so late in my answer, but in the last 2 days I was very busy.

            @user2022
            thx for you answer, but sybok centered and solved my question, so at the moment I am happy this way.

            EDIT
            @admins
            I cannot mark the question as solved.
            May also be better to change the title in something like “How to use Skype in a 32 bit pc in July 2022”
            In this case the topic may be moved to Tips and Trick section
            Thx in advance for your help

              Use Rambox, it is compatible with Skype and offered in 32-bit and 64-bit versions. It is even offered as appimage and you can use it even without installing it. Links:
