      Hi,
I have been using a vpn for years to maintain my privacy on the web.
I’ve always been happy with Mullvad, but I downloaded the .deb file and it didn’t install on my antiX.
Is there any way to fix this? Keeping in mind that I pay for a subscription I would prefer to use this vpn again and not change it.
Otherwise I am open to other suggestions.
Thank you in advance for your answers.

Mullvad VPN is also installable with the package-installer
        menu > control-centre > software > package-installer
In the package-installer it’s under Network.

Does this work for you ?

Thank you for answer, evidently I had not checked carefully.
From the search I get two results, one is the vpn, the other is a script.
Do I need to install both?

It looks to me like you are trying to install mullvad with synaptic. Then both packages need to be installed.
An easy and very reliable way to install software is with the package-installer. It can also be achieved from the toolbar of the icewm-desktop called there software installer.Everything important gets installed automatically.
Installing with package installer looks like this, it is surely worth to get familiar with it.

I looked carefully at image you posted, but in my installer there is no entry with Mullvad VPN.
There are three different VPNs, but Mullvad is not present.
That’s probably why I tried to install their .deb file directly.
Maybe I need to update something?

Is your system 32 bits? Mullvad VPN seems to be listed as 64 bits only in package Installer (probably it was only for 64 bits when it was added to the package-installer).

If you are on 32 bits, or you know your system is up to date, these are the basic instructions to configure Mullvad VPN (taken from package installer):

                sudo apt install mullvadvpn-sysvinit-compat mullvadvpn-downloader-installer
                /usr/share/mullvad-downloader-installer/install_mullvadvpn.sh

                  You’re right.
                  I have installed a 32-bit antiX on a 64-bit system.
Pc, is an Acer Aspire 5720 in excellent condition to which I increased the RAM to 3 GB,
I use it only as a secondary station or for distance learning of my children.
Can I have any problems continuing to use it like this?
                  Should I reinstall 64-bit?
If I keep the 32 bit antiX version can I still install Mullvad vpn?

Try the commands above, and see if they work.
                    EDIT:
                    —————————-
I just checked the script, and it downloads the .deb from the official site, which says

(Note: the new app is only available for 64-bit operating systems; if you have a 32-bit operating system, you will need to use another OpenVPN client instead.)

                    So, no go on 32bits.
                    ——————————

I think that if you have more than 2GBs of RAM, it is better to use the 64bits edition (if the CPU supports it). There are so many programs that are dropping 32bits support that it makes it difficult to find alternatives. I remember trying to help a user configure Spotify in antiX 19 32bits we ended up giving up.

But if you don’t need any of the programs that are only 64bits, and are happy with your current configuration, then keep using 32bits. It is more frugal and lighter, and nothing can beat that.

Hey, I understand your problems. I had the same issue with my old VPN provider; even with a premium account Netflix site was very laggy. I suggest the following VPN services for watching your favorite shows – NordVPN, ExpressVPN Surfshark, CyberGhost, Privateinternetaccess or bestvpnprovider.co. You can choose the most comfortable one from the listed services. All of them have free trial access. Remember to pay attention to the region you are picking in the VPN setting and the traffic limits.
