Hi JK, in an older post you quoted your device as having KT4AV Board and very low RAM.

Please give us info if your board is KT4AV MS-6712. Should that be the case you will be able to
install much more RAM Memory, that would greatly improve performance and at least give some better
chance of using a modern browser.

very old computer with no SSE2 procesor and 256 MB RAM as well as motherboard MSI VIA KT4A-V
If that info is correct you are probably running out of memory.

Please check, try sudo dmidecode –type baseboard, should that not work you may need to look
at the board.
If as I suspect you have the MS6712 board you can add much more RAM and gain a huge increase in
usability and performance.

It is VIA VT8237. RAM may be to 2 GB. But in right corner is used RAM approximately 100 MB under maximal limit.

Hi JK do you have the manual already. I think below is correct.

If not done already please take a close look at the capacitors near the big power connector,
check for bulging leaking or swollen. If you find any of those issues better to replace.
I would also renew the paste between processor and cooler, it may be many years old already.

The screenshot of inxi you posted here says its a MSI MS-7021 motherboard and memory
its under Info: Memory:240,6 Mib, used:98 Mib

Also its probably better to use a swap partition with such less ram, even with 2GB.
