      Hi again,

I have installed an application via GDebi (XnView, my favourite image viewer) which is is installed in /opt/XnView
Happy to be able to create en entry – prog “XnView” /opt/XnView/xnview.png xnview – in the menu file in .icewm
      But the program doesn’t start.

When I type in the Terminal xnview I got:

      qt5ct: using qt5ct plugin
      Segmentation fault

      I don’t understand the qt5ct

      But when I type :
      gksu /opt/XnView/xnview.sh
      the program starts correct.

Is it possoble to start it without needing my password..?
I saw in /opt there is also the Brave browser which I installed via the Software Installer, starts normal.

How did you install it? Did it create an entry in /usr/share/applications? Can you launch it directly from App Select?
If any of the two previous answers is YES, then simply copy the EXEC command for your program and add it to you menu (I like App Select better, it shows all relevant information for each application, including the exec command).
Thanks again, Dave, for creating this tool.

Thanks @ Xecure. I istalled the downloaded XnViewMP-linux-x64.deb file with right mouse click > open > Gdebi.
it has created a file in /usr/share/applications . It does NOT start via App Select.
When I insert exec or EXEC in the menu file the icon disappears.

But when I insert gksu /opt/XnView/xnview.sh it works 🙂 (of cause I need to type my password) I could change the owner of /opt/XnView/ to my own…
Is that the right way, a good solution. ? What about the sudoer list..? To be honest I have no idea about it, never used it.

It seems to be that the new versions carry a bug with them, as seen here:
            https://newsgroup.xnview.com/viewtopic.php?f=62&t=40677
            Also, the solution is there.
Open qt5ct (you can launch it from App Select under “QT5 Settings”). Change style: gtk2 to any other style (for example, Fusion). Apply and try launching XnViewMP (without sudo) and see if you still get the same error.

Great man :))) now I understand qt5ct – and I can even set the menues of the application to a reasonable font size, it was too small.
              Big Thank.
