My skills at theming icewm are next to 0, so I mixed together 2 themes that I like and I ended up with a very nice and modern looking one. It’s tiny, but looks great (and I’m still working on it).
I also added an optional prefeoverride file, to complement it (all itens on that file are commetended, so anyone can change the values I’ve chosen).
Out of the box, this makes IceWM toolbar look like any modern OS.I also attach a screenshot (please click on it, to enlarge it and see the toolbar).
PS: I’m using a menu that shows all categories on the first layer of the menu. The screenshot also shows what I changed on icewm’s menu file to achieve that.
Edit: to use this theme uncompress the ftX-Dark.zip in the folder ~/.icewm/themes
The prefoverride file, once uncompressed, should be placed in ~/.icewm/ . In case you already have a prefoverride file, you can simply copy and paste the lines you like from my file to your’s, to get a similar result to what you see on the screnshot.
I also have compton installed and enabled (it’s what provides the shadow you see around the menu and the window)Edit2: If you do not like the “metallic reflection” I added to the menus: just rename the file ~/.icewm/themes/ftX-Dark/menubg.xpm to something else, and you get a nice and clean, high contrast black background (I’ll have to change it to match the toolbar background, dark grey, I know).
This theme and prefoverride file is meant to emulate the default FT10 toolbar as much as possible, without having to install any extra package (I almost used, as start menu, the same image I created for ft10, but I decided to adapt the default image from antiX 23a1). The menu and toolbar provide a confortable environment to someone used to say Windows 7 or latter…

Hello PPC.
I just tested the new theme “ftX-Dark.zip” and the “prefoverride.zip” on the ISO “antiX-23-alpha1-runit_x64-full.iso”, both with the “metallic reflection” and without the effect. Both are very tasteful and I was very happy with the result.

Eu acabei de testar o novo tema “ftX-Dark.zip” e o “prefoverride.zip” na ISO “antiX-23-alpha1-runit_x64-full.iso”, tanto com o “reflexo metálico” e sem o efeito. Ambos são de muito bom gosto e eu fiquei muito contente com o resultado.
