There is Firefox and Palemoon in Antix repo which is great since those 2 are my 2 favourite browsers. What is not so great is that, as of writing this, both are outdated.

Firefox is still stuck on 89 and palemoon 29.2.

Is there any particular reason why this is the case ?

They are not too outdated- just wait a bit longer until the latest version trickle down to the repos. antiX is based on Debian, and Debian repos rarely have the latest version of any software- they prefer stability above all else.
You can download (from the respective home pages) and install manually each of those browsers and use that latest version…
I’m not a dev, so I can’t tell you why the browsers haven’t been updated in our Package Installer- probably because the Dev team is busy taking care of antiX 21, and hey… they are humans, and they need a rest too, right?

This may not be exactly an answer to your question but a rather comment on available Firefox (FF).

Debian, hence also antiX, by default includes FF ESR (Extended Support Release) in order to save time of the package maintainers after the switch to the rapid-release calendar. (The people at Debian also need a rest.)
Present version of FF ESR is not outdated (= it is still supported and gets security updates) though it may not represent the latest advancements in both design and functionality of FF.

Disclaimer: Personally, I do prefer FF ESR over latest FF.

I uninstalled Firefox and am using Firefox-ESR. Apart from no https-only mode, most things seem to be the same. Also am using Stevo’s Opensuse repo for palemoon which has the latest version. Thanks all for the input.
