Simply would like to offer some RECOMMENDATIONS for overlooked or little-known Linux Software: I’m sure we all have quirky favourites. Please add any you’d recommend.

      My starter is:

Ted: THE BRILLIANT MICRO WORD PROCESSOR for LINUX

TED is great: it’s a full-function RTF based WORD PROCESSOR – so handles fonts/ colours / formats – and is WORD-compatible
-yet is so tiny and fast, its like using Leafpad. Loads in.. oh almost 0.1 seconds.

To Install Ted: sudo apt install ted

To RUN Ted: Ted [ NOT ‘ted’. The ONLY Linux program I know with a capital initial.]

We used to ship Ted on the iso out of the box.
We are probably the only Debian based distro that includes it in out repos.

One I love that we do ship with is xmms audio player.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

ytfzf seems to be virtualy unknown to most users. It is excellent for using youtube with privacy and effiency.

Well worth reading the manual, multi selection and self created playlists are ace.
