      It is possible to remove rox –pinboard = antiX-icewm from system startup. I don’t need rox-filer to manage the desktop or do I need icons on it. It consumes 25MB of memory and it’s not even running.
      I tried, but something different like rox –RPC runs.

      >_ cat default-desktop
      rox-icewm

      I like rox-filer, if possible I prefer to keep it.

      Thank you.

      Edito: I run pkill rox at the start of the session.

      PS: The latest rox-filer update forced me to add this to ~/.icewm/winoptions:

      Rox-filer.dTitleBar: 0
      Rox.dTitleBar: 0
      ...
      -rwxr-xr-x 1 root root 618528 Feb 7 08:39 rox
      lrwxrwxrwx 1 root root 3 Feb 7 08:39 rox-filer -> rox

        Try the icewm desktop instead of rox-icewm (the default).

        F1 at the login screen cycles through the desktop list

          An alternate way, is this:

          Once you boot to desktop, on the main menu, choose Desktop > Other Desktops > IceWM
          Then reboot.

          Thereafter, ROX will not load a pinboard. No icons on desktop; otherwise, the desktop will remain the same.
          Future reboots will be the same, as well. (Also as BobC said, above.)
          🙂

            I didn’t think it was that simple, 🙂
            Another alternative,

            >_ cat .desktop-session/default-desktop
            rox-icewm

            >_ cat .desktop-session/log

            PD: ps_mem.py -> 14.3 MiB rox

            Gracias, @BobC, @christophe
