repo has invalid signature

I am running Antix 17.4.1 on an old Dell Dimension Pentium 3 and on a thumb drive live with persistence on a Mint Box. In Synaptic Manager both throw the same code error as users experienced recently in Antix 19. On the Mint Box I tried the solution that Anticapitalista issued. I am now warned that I may do harm to my system if I download the packages involved in the upgrade but can now install them. They are virtual box packages and I don’t have virtual box installed! The Dell has an updated kernel 4.19.184 while the live thumb drive needs to be remastered before I can upgrade.

I don’t understand this. So, you tried to install the package antix-archive-keyring_20019.3.14_all.deb and it warned you of harm, but you accepted and now it tells you about a warning? Or is the warning related to an apt upgrade command?

Please provide the terminal output of the process so we can better understand what you mean.

Note on virtualbox packages: antiX comes with a virtualbox package only for when yo run antiX inside virtualbox (as a guest). You can remove said packages.

2 suggestions/comments:

1-this happened in a live antiX- try booting without persistence, applying anticapitalista’s suggestion and see how it goes. If everything looks ok, apply that when running with persistence
2- I think antiX comes with some virtual box files out of the box- ment to help users run antiX from a Virtual Machine, so don’t worry about the fact that you don’t have virtual box installed…

I removed virtual box guest packages and then entered anticapitalistas EXPKEYSIG error and fix solution in a terminal. Synaptic Package manager is now error free. This was on my live with persistence thumb drive which I updated,remastered and installed a new kernel first.
