I’ve accidentally assigned to gz package files a non-existing command (gz). I changed the default program to open it with to “tar”, but in the “Open With” menu, “gz” is still there.
Is there any way I can reset the “Open With” settings?
See if the article at https://libre-software.net/change-the-default-application-linux-mint-ubuntu/ is helpful.

SpaceFM uses the mimeapps.list file located in ~/.config/ to determine default apps for different files.
Open it to see if the gz app is there and delete the entry
geany ~/.config/mimeapps.list
Search the [Added Associations] list. hopefully you can find it there and delete it.
