I had made root persistence with the 21 base ISO release.

Among apps in which I made changes are:
      –Geany
      –zzzFM
      –Connman’s wifi connection saving
      –BlueDay-Medium theme
      –Number of desktops
–Behavior of mouse scroller with IceWM taskbar

Can I freely use this same persistence file with AntiX 22 base ISO? Or are there even *slight* details and I must redo everything?

      Thanks.

AFAIK, you can update to 22 from within 21. I haven’t tried, but see no reason that it shouldn’t work with a live USB. I’m not sure what happens to the persistence file if you do so, but if you do a remaster of your USB first, and then do a backup of that, and then try updating, you should be able to test with little risk.

Just to mention, antiX 22 is nothing else but antiX 21 fully updated with *elogind* removed and replaced with seatd.
I am not exactly clear what you intend to do, but I concur with Pun Ranger that Remaster practice is good to exercise ones you are ok with your changes, before you proceed to the next step.
So, as might be relevant to your question, the current persistence file should in principle work with the antiX 22, but why not a more straightforward approach – just remaster and upgrade?

made root persistence with the 21 base ISO release.

unless it was a fully up-to-date “21 base(d)” system, the pre-existing persistence file would be unusable due to a kernel mismatch, yes?

((( antix 22 iso contains kernel version 4.9.0-326, vs originally 4.9.0-279 kernel in antix 21 )))

Also, unless it was a fully up-to-date “21 base(d)” system….. within the persistence file, the dpkg database content may not match the actual inventory of the system’s installed packages and their versions ((( ouch! )))
