Hi there!
I’m not sure how I did it, but I ended up with both Space and its successor, zzz, on my netbook install of antiX 21.
What’s the best bet for removing Space without messing things up?
Through Synaptic, the terminal, or some other way?
I just don’t want to give it an educated guess and get it totally wrong.
Thanks in advance…

::I’d remove it from the terminal for one reason only: it *may* be easier to see any feedback or any other package interaction from the terminal, though they may be seen in other interfaces too; otherwise there’s usually not much difference.
I will say that in certain cases different package managers WILL treat dependencies and optional packages differently, though it’s unlikely with the file manager. Nevertheless that is why I would personally use the terminal; if I am paying attention I’ll see any unwanted actions.

::Before removing it, check which desktop you are set for, and what you have your default file manager set to, and make sure neither is set for spacefm.
I also like the idea of removing it via terminal, and check if it will be removing other things as well. If the list has anything unusual on it, paste a screenshot here and cancel. You can always run it again later.

::Hi Mynaardt,
When you wish to see if deleting something will give you a problem, from the terminal you can
run "sudo apt remove" -s file nameto see what the effects will be.

Okay, thanks for that Brian. That’s sensible advice.

Right!
I’ll be doing this from a zzz iceWM session.
