Thank you for this amazing distro. I have an old laptop which is almost 17 years old. It’s a HP Compaq nc6120, Intel Pentium (R) M processor. 800 ~ 1733 Mhz. 1.46 Gb ram and a 53 GB harddisk. It once ran Windows XP and when it was outdated I switched to Linux. Mostly the lean and mean types but was I was not satisfied until now. I found AntiX and it runs fast, amazingly fast even for this old laptop. That means that when I put a SSD in it, it will run like hell. You guys did an amazing job! Even the battery (second one, original HP, 7 years old) lasts stil 2 hours.
I kept this laptop because it has a serial port, a parallel port, USB, firewire, network, wifi and use it to interface it with electronic stuff like Arduino or TI type boards. With the parallel port you can program with PonyProg software microprocessor types like the PICs or Atmels.
As a test I downloaded QB64 and installed (recompiled) it and it runs fast.
So, after some years searching for the lean and mean distro AntiX is the one to use.
Kind regards, Albert.

::Hello Albert,
Welcome to antiX Linux and the forum.
I don’t know how to write in English and I send my texts translated by the internet translator. I hope you can understand everything, if your native language is not English, please translate my original Brazilian Portuguese text directly into your language with the help of internet translators.
Indeed, antiX allows to revive many old computers that for other GNU/Linux distributions or for Windows are considered obsolete technologies. But why do we have to get rid of technology that is still working? What about our “right to fix”?
As you already know how to compile (something I still don’t know how to do), it may be redundant for you, but it’s never too much for me to point out and recommend to all newcomers to antiX that regardless of their level of knowledge about GNU/Linux, I I recommend you read these excellent tutorials created by @PPC:
Short essential how-to list for the complete Linux newbie and How-to install applications – 2020 version.

Short essential how-to list for the complete Linux newbie e How-to install applications – 2020 version.
