      The reason it brightens up at 1st run is because electronics have cooled down. The reason the screen gets dim later is because things have warmed up. Heat is troublesome in electronics. Now back to my shop computer which died today. Been faithful for years. But. Everything wears out eventually in my heat.

      Back light inverter is OK. External monitor proved that. On My panasonic cf-48 laptop. I had the same problem as you and I fixed it with a replacement LCD harness that goes from the inverter to back of lcd screen. It is a ribbon cable. I used duct tape to secure ribbon cable to back of screen.

      Good luck. I have 2 broke computers to look at today myself. IBM M57 ” No operating found” . NUC box won’t even power on now.
