      Hi, how are you?

I got a Dell mouse from the “90s” (those without Scroll) and I’m using it, but it’s almost impossible to navigate without using Scroll Lock. I’ve already tested some tips, but without success in the br-abnt2 layout. Does anyone have any tips to fix my problem?

Hi, @matheus, *where* do you want to navigate? (Could you please provide few examples/use-cases: browser, editors, consoles?)
Could you please mention the tips you have already tried and why are they not satisfactory?
E.g. why do not A) (left-click into an appropriate part of a page followed by) page up/down, arrows and space or B) dragging a ribbon using mouse suffice?
I can imagine that it can be annoying but provided your HW limitations (and my current understanding of the situation), it may be the best you get.

        Some tips:
        – Browser: “tridactyl” extension in Firefox browser – it allows to navigate using keys, thus significantly reducing mouse dependence when browsing.
Does not work on some web-pages, though.
        – Text editor: ‘vim’ may be tough to learn (at least at the beginning) but it allows to navigate using keys.

depending on your needs, this article (in Italian) may be useful : https://www.navigaweb.net/2019/02/auto-scroll-automatico-verso-il-basso.html.

In any case, if you want to scroll down, you need only to press the “space bar”
moreover to scroll up: shift + “space bar”

De qualquer forma, se você quiser rolar para baixo, basta pressionar a tecla “espaço”
além disso, para rolar para cima: shift + barra de espaço

              Hi,
There is also the option to convert the keyboard to a mouse. I have a laptop were the touchpad does not work, and I used the following setup to convert the keyboard to a mouse.

              https://linuxreviews.org/HOWTO_use_the_numeric_keyboard_keys_as_mouse_in_XOrg

I hope I am understanding your question correctly.

                Olá, como vão?

Agradecido pelas sugestões. Acabei localizando a solução no Fórum do PCLinuxOS (em inglês). Agora eu tenho o Scroll Lock funcionando como deveria.

PPC taught us to control the cursor with the numeric keypad in the topic created by Boy Double mouse click and keyboard arrow control.
