Searchmonkey localization

My main problem is that Searchmonkey is not localized (it seems to have localization only in French and Russian).
I converted the french .mo localization file back to .po and I’m converting it to pt. Marcelo will later convert that localization to pt_br
My question to the Dev Team is this:
Should I send the resulting pt and pt_BR .mo files to you, to be included in antiX?

If yes, are you open to have more applications localized this way? and if so, is there anything you think requires more a urgent localization?

Another possibility if that I clear up the localized fields, send you the “virgin” .po file and you place that over at Transifex, so the Translation Team can take a stab at it…

PPC, thank you very much for this important initiative.

I hope the developers will pay attention to this topic, use our translations and even create ways for other languages to be translated on Transifex.

Thanks for sending me the .po file, as soon as I can complete the review/adaptation for the pt-BR language, I’ll send you the .po and .mo files.

Will do so. Stay tuned.
Have done so. Was that fast since I used aCMTS script along with some regex to rebuild the .pot file from the existing translation files present in antiX. Hope everything works as expected now.

Language Resource of searchmonkey is present for translation at antiX-contribs on transifex. French and Russian translations are uploaded from what I found in antiX. Please check whether everything is convenient.

P.S.: Once ready we should upstream the results to the searchmonkey project.

(not specific to pt_BR nor Searchmonkey)
Bear in mind that, for programs packaged upstream, any systemwide custom .mo files
which antiX might inject are subject being overwritten during future upgrades of the associated package.

Robin, with all his patience and through HexChat’s antiX-translators channel, he guided me every step of the way so I could use his “magical” machine translation program.
SearchMonkey is being translated with automatic translations. The languages benefited so far are: af, am, ar, be, de, el, es. These languages have already been automatically uploaded to Transifex, the bg language is currently being translated.
It is obvious that all these languages will need to be proofread by native speakers when there is a volunteer person in the respective language willing to donate their time and knowledge.

O Robin, com toda com a sua paciência e por meio do canal antiX-translators do HexChat, ele me guiou em cada passo para eu poder utilizar o seu programa “mágico” de tradução automática.
O SearchMonkey está sendo traduzido com as traduções automáticas. Os idiomas beneficiados até o momento são: af, am, ar, be, de, el, es. Estes idiomas já foram enviados automaticamente para Transifex, o idioma bg está sendo traduzido neste momento.
É óbvio que todos estes idiomas precisarão ser revisados por nativos quando houver uma pessoa voluntária no respectivo idioma disposta a doar o seu tempo e conhecimento.
