      Here’s what I get running “sensors”:

      $ sensors
      acpitz-virtual-0
      Adapter: Virtual device
      temp1:        +40.0°C  (crit = +100.0°C)

      Always, no matter how much of my cpu I’m using, I find it quite confusing as even in bios cpu temp is higher (45-50°).
      Among solutions I tried to run “sensors-detect”, here’s the output:

      Driver it87:
        * ISA bus, address 0x290
          Chip ITE IT8705F Super IO Sensors (confidence: 9)

      I tried to add it in /etc/modules but at boot I get a message like “driver it87 is busy”, and nothing changes.
      As a new user I don’t know if that is an hw or software issue, does anyone have any advice?
      I was also looking for some GUI software to see if it changed things, found CPU-X but I can’t find a way to install it.
      Thanks for your time.

        On my laptop:

        $ sensors
        BAT1-acpi-0
        Adapter: ACPI interface
        in0:          12.50 V
        curr1:       1000.00 uA

        coretemp-isa-0000
        Adapter: ISA adapter
        Package id 0:  +66.0°C  (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
        Core 0:        +62.0°C  (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)
        Core 1:        +66.0°C  (high = +87.0°C, crit = +105.0°C)

        acpitz-virtual-0
        Adapter: Virtual device

        Maybe there is a problem in the VM to recognize properly the battery. Maybe kernel related.

        Unfortunately, it isn’t in the debian repos for Debian buster (Debian 10 – antiX 19).
        But it does seem to be present in Debian bullseye (so you could try to see if anything is different in the antiX 21-b2 beta release)

          Is there any other alternative that can be used with antix19?

            Too busy complaining about USB stick recognition to do a 2 second search. !!!!

            Appimage from CPU-X GIT page runs fine.

            You can also follow instructions from said page to compile and install.

              Moddit, I think you have confused the users.

              @palacca, investigating a bit more I found that cpu-x build their own .deb packages that should also work on antiX 19
              Download and uncompress this file, Go to the Debian 10 folder and the correct architecture folder, and install it in the system by opening a terminal, writing (without executing yet)
              sudo apt install
              leave a space after “install” and drag and drop the .deb files cpu-x_4.2.0-1+1.1_amd64.deb and libcpuid15_0.5.1-0_amd64.deb.
              Then hit Enter in the terminal and it should install cpu-x and its dependencies.

                What model motherboard are you using..
                I have this it8665 sensor chip and need to load the modules manually. Or at least on Debian I do..

                    Managed to load it87 module on kernel. Now here’s the sensors output:

                    I can’t figure out which device temperature temp1-2-3 refer to. Which one is for cpu, if there is one?

                    I don’t expect anything, but one thing is for sure… as a newbie I’ve got less general knowledge, hence my searching capabilities are lower than yours.
                    So yes, I still put myself to it and try to solve issues on my own (as it is way more exciting), but still after a while I may only get to dead ends.
                    So here I ask, to more experienced users, as creating forums topics are and should be an important part in solving issues, for future users as myself.
                    Thank you for your time, to anyone who knows if any of listed temps refer to cpu temp.

                      Probably this one is the CPU, as it is the hottest.

                      I don’t have much experience with looking at the sensors or temps, so I will let Koo and others who know about them to guide you on this subject.

                        I’d think that too, but cpu-x still logs:

                         CPU-X:core.c:1611: failed to retrieve CPU temperature (fallback mode)

                        Don’t know if it’s caused by software limitations to cpu-x or if sensors still doesn’t detect any cpu temp.

                          This is not easy with the info you have provied or not provied. You still have not answered my question nor given any real infomation about what computer you are talking about.

                          First you say you have loaded the kernel modules how have you done this. ?

                                I have looked around for your m/board model Biostar P4M800-M7A rev7.0 this one old m/board and it has a VIA chipset. I can not find any info which would help you.

                                The below is add to the grub file after installing the IT87 modules, one line in grub won’t replace the modules.

                                mobo is Biostar P4M800-M7A rev7.0
                                For loading it87 I followed various forums hint telling to change this in /etc/default/grub:

                                GRUB_CMDLINE_LINUX="acpi_enforce_resources=lax"

                                I’m sorry can’t help you further..
