      I mean, is there a setup command for Epson C1100 printer? I have added the printer at cups, but it appears to be idle and the jobs appear as completed, but it doesn’t print.

            For my epson-printer I downloaded a driver from this side
            http://download.ebz.epson.net/dsc/search/01/search/?OSC=LX
            Type C1100 for you model
            Choose the AcuLaser C1100 for CUPS for download
            Download the two rpm from the commands below

            There are only rpm for this printer
            So you first have to download

            sudo apt-get install alien libcups2-dev libstdc++5 psutils

            Then

            sudo alien --scripts Epson-ALC1100-filter-1.2-0.i386.rpm
            sudo alien --scripts Epson-ALC1100-filter-cups-1.2-0.i386.rpm

            Then you have deb.packages which you can install

            Afterwards

            sudo /etc/init.d/cups restart

            Good luck!

              No words to thank you. It worked. I only write down (for… people like me) the commands for installing the deb files:

              $ sudo dpkg -i epson-alc1100-filter_1.2-1_i386.deb
              $ sudo dpkg -i epson-alc1100-filter-cups_1.2-1_i386.deb
