This is just a question if there is a resolution in sight of the issue with antiX shutdown/reboot while shares have not been manually disconnected, reported in the following thread a few months ago:
https://www.antixforum.com/forums/topic/connectshares-does-it-still-work/page/3/
Currently (antiX 19.2 Hannie Schaft) antiX hangs on shutdown or reboot if shares are not manually disconnected… Reportedly in previous releases of antiX it was working as expected…
Thanks and Regards…

There is a Readme file there explaining some stuff about sysvinit that will probably help.
I cannot help here, as this is too big for me.
If someone figures it out they could contribute here and fix this problem for the future.

My understanding was from how SamK explained in the quoted thread antiX was able to shut down normally while shares are connected. My understanding of that explanation was that antiX was shutting down normally until 19, when now it hangs on shutdown.
Manual disconnecting (Disconnectshares) – this is what I am doing to avoid antiX hanging, if I remember that some shares might be connected. However this is not optimal and preferable antiX behavior would be as it was before version 19.
However I sense that not a significant percentage of antiX users are actually using networking, SMB shares. Therefore I am not asking to spend precious effort of antiX developers to fix such issues that affect only a small minority of users, who use networking of SMB such as me. I can live with with this in such case…

Thanks Xecure, for this alternative of the fix. I will look into this possibility.

Could someone who uses connectshares on antiX-19 series, try changing to these two lines.

I have done this test on installed antiX 19.2. Unfortunately this behavior did not improve – antiX 19 still hangs on shutdown if networked shares are not manually disconnected before shutdown.
The last message during shutdown process is:‘Stopping enhanced syslogd:rsyslogd’
Just to be clear on edit of those two lines: It was done as root and rebooted. After reboot verified to make sure edit was still holding. Is there anything in addition to edit that needs to be done that I am missing?
Again, this is not critical, I can live with this and on solely my own account I would not bother antiX team. However it would be beneficial to antiX if this is eventually fixed.
Also, to be clear: My mentioning that antiX was reportedly shutting down clean until 19 was based on my understanding this was emphasized by SamK in the post I quoted. Myself, I do not know for sure if it stopped shutting down clean after antiX 17 or earlier.
