Hi,
I tried to use simplescreenrecorder on antiX but I’m not able to record sound (I have built in mic).
Tested on two laptops, using live-USB.
I tried to change input devices in simplescreenrecorder but it won’t help.
I’ve installed PulseAudio but it haven’t help either. What do you think? Is there something I should install?

::Might want to start screen recorder in terminal and see if any messages say what is missing. You can post that output here using the code button on the reply taskbar. I know.

I always recommend doing
sudo apt updateBefore launching either/or. Cli package installer or Synaptic GUI package installer. After the new kernel install. I am hoping other members will chime in here. Because I quit long ago doing screen recordings

::Thanks. I’ve updated kernel, no success though.
Moreover, I had the same problem on new and old (ca. 2008) laptop.Or maybe it is because I’m using live-USB? However webcam is working OK, so I don’t know why the mic is not.
In the output of simplescreenrecorder I spotted the
[PulseAudioConnect] Error: Could not connect! Reason: Connection refused It is possible that your system doesn't use PulseAudio. Try using the ALSA backend instead. So I reinstalled pulseaudio from command-line. Then searched the web and found () that I can try
plulseaudio -kandpulseaudio --startandsudo pulseaudio --system -DTo start daemon. Now simplescreenrecorder is NOT showing pulseaudio error but still I’m not able to record sound.
I’ve played with pulseaudio settings and increased value on the Input slider (volume?).
Now it records some white noise.- This reply was modified 2 years, 10 months ago by floem7.

::There are some issues with simplescreenrecorder and pulseaudio.
https://github.com/MaartenBaert/ssr/issues/794You could try vokoscreen as alternative.
It’s in de repositories.
Vokoscreen has an option to choose the audio driver and works fine with the default alsa driver.- This reply was modified 2 years, 10 months ago by smartduck.

::Thanks smartduck. He can also try installing pulse-audio I guess from antixcc>system>package installer> type in pulse in r/h search box .
Just mentioning it because of his newer gear. I guess to add alsa to backend in streamtuner maybe.
Go into .config. Go find streamrecorder folder. If not there.
sudo updatedbthen
locate screenrecorderFolder will show location there.
Go inside. Change out pulseaudio entries in script to alsa. Always making a backup 1st in case you screw the pooch. Like backup the whole folder.
Thanks for joining in again To be honest. Your way sounds easier.

::I tried vokoscreen, but it also don’t record sound (using ALSA).
I also installed Pulseaudio with package installer. I think it don’t work because SSR started from terminal alerts about absence of Pulseaudio

In the ~/.config there is no SSR folder.
