In the past 1-2 weeks I have found 2-3 times during the day or evening that the forum times out, whether I am reading or responding to a post.
I have not yet charted the times that this happens, but I am wondering if either web bot activities or server maintenance is impeding performance.
I’m doubting that it’s server maintenance unless this has recently changed but it is possible that some bot or service attack is slowing down the system to a crawl, making it appear that the site is down, when it’s actually facing heavy traffic. As I said, this is relatively recent and not previously common behavior.
Anything show up in the server logs?

I can confirm this behaviour. However, I’ve noticed it much, much longer.
If at all, only the main page of the forum is displayed.
All linked pages will go blank.
I use uBlock Origin, uMatrix and SkipRedirect.
I have the stomach ache since anti/richb got involved with wordpress/generatepress.
And, servers in the US are suspect to me anyway.
Why are 16 scripts executed on the forum page? What is the purpose? After logging in there are 28 scripts !
I don’t know any Linux forum in the world that is so opaque.
