Somehow LXTerminal disappeared from the X Window, and neither a new one nor a firefox would appear in the X Window user interface.
I went to tty1 by Ctrl-Alt-F1 and did “pkill Xorg”, whereupon X restarted, but with the SLiM login manager.
As the screen was not centered (original screen broken) and a login not possible I went back to tty1 and did “pkill slim”, whereupon bang! frozen:
no cursor on tty1 , Ctrl-Alt-F7 does not result in anything etc.
Is there any hope to get back to tty1 or anywhere?
The system was running in RAM with unsaved data.

Roxterm is included in the current version of antiX; as long as you can access it or reach a console TTY with networking enabled, there is no reason you cannot retrieve whatever program appears to be missing. Are you able to restart your system, or did a critical component get removed? If things are badly damaged, do you still have the CD, DVD, USB, or whatever you used to install antiX or are you able to use a system where you can build or acquire a working antiX image? Any of these methods would give you access to your system, though you may not wish to reinstall unless the system is actually broken.

Make sure you make a backup copy of your working system if you do not have one; if you do, that’s another way to recover from failure. Let us know where things stand and we can guide you as needed.

I am on tty1 where a cursor is lacking.
          ctrl-alt-f7 does not do anything.

What did you use to start this system?

Also how much unsaved information is affected?

You may have to restart if everything is stuck.
