I am trying Slimjet on a Dell Latitude D600 with antiX 17.
When I try to play videos on a news site, the video plays but there is no sound.
When I play the video with firefox, it has sound. Also, the sound test works fine.
I am using Slimjet with a Dell D610 and it works fine.
The problem seems to be with Slimjet.Is there someone that uses Slimjet, who may be able to help me with this problem.

If the above doesn’t solve, the following web search results seem promising:

::Yes, you are right, there is no sound.
But if I start from terminal with
/usr/bin/flashpeak-slimjet --alsa-output-device=hw:1,0the sound works.You have to know which soundcard you use. card 1 or card 0
cat /proc/asound/cardsgives here
$ cat /proc/asound/cards 0 [HDMI ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel HDMI HDA Intel HDMI at 0xe0630000 irq 43 1 [PCH ]: HDA-Intel - HDA Intel PCH HDA Intel PCH at 0xe0634000 irq 33I know I use the PCH card for my headphones , so for me it’s
--alsa-output-device=hw:1,0If I would use the HDMI card it would be
--alsa-output-device=hw:0,1It’s a workaround I found on the net.

::@skidoo
is the “apulse” package installed. If not, install that and retry (may need to logout and reenter before trying).
Thanks for the information.
I installed apulse and did a restart. Still no sound.
Tried terminal with “apulse flashpeak-slimjet”, but that didn’t work either.
Will study the references.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)

::@caprea
Here are my sound card results:
user@user:~
$ user@user:~
$ cat /proc/asound/cards
0 [I82801DBICH4 ]: ICH4 – Intel 82801DB-ICH4
Intel 82801DB-ICH4 with STAC9750,51 at irq 5
1 [Modem ]: ICH-MODEM – Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem
Intel 82801DB-ICH4 Modem at irq 5It appears that 0 is the sound card in use.
I tried in terminal: /usr/bin/flashpeak-slimjet –alsa-output-device=hw:0,1
Still did not work.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)

::Do you have pulseaudio installed ?
Then might try
pasuspender -- /usr/bin/flashpeak-slimjet --alsa-output-device=hw:0,1September 13, 2020 at 4:23 pm #41625Membergreyowl
::Yes, pulseaudio is installed.
I tried: pasuspender — /usr/bin/flashpeak-slimjet –alsa-output-device=hw:0,1Still does not work.
Is it OK to have both pulseaudio and apulse installed?

It should not matter. On antiX19 apulse is installed by default and someone could install additional pulseaudio.
I wonder why the workaround does not have any effect for you.It’s slimjet 27.0.7.0 here.September 14, 2020 at 7:10 am #41653Membergreyowl
::yea, it beats me. I don’t understand why it doesn’t work if it works for you.
Thanks for the help.Dell Latitude D620 laptop with antiX 22 (64 bit)
