[solved]Slimski fails on boot-up, Antix 21, 64 bit

The system (antiX21,64 bit on Dell e5430) has been working flawlessly.
But today, it would not boot to desktop, with either kernel (5.10… or 4.9…)
The boot dialogue goes by too quickly to digest, but the last few lines are:

Starting Slimski: slimskienvlang received as en_US.UTF-8
localized theme file would be: /usr/share/slimski/themes/antix/en_US
...but no matching locale-specific theme file is present.
/usr/share/slimski/themes/antix/en_US

Starting common Unix Printing System: cupsd
Applying power save settings... done
Start battery charge thresholds... done

If I enter username and password, at that point, the system does not open. On shutdown, a message flashes by: Slimski failed.

I have another similar system, which boots normally, even though it lacks the file /usr/share/slimski/themes/antix/en_US

Do you have nvidia drivers installed?
I doubt slimski is at fault.

Thanks for taking time to consider my issue. It looks like the problem was caused by me, and is now corrected.

Before shutdown last night, I edited /etc/X11/xorg.conf.d/synaptics.conf
to change touchpad parameters. However, I mis-typed “Option” on one line. This was discovered by reading /var/log/Xorg.0.log

Apparently, this error was enough to prevent loading a screen.
