Hi and welcome to this topic, I got a brand new issue and this is the story:

I brought alive this computer with the first antiX 17 version, all good. Then I saw this last stable version 17.4.1 that I had to try then I just wipe all the drive and made a brand new installation. Fine.

I got noticed, that it hasn’t the adoble flash plugin then I tried several ways to install it till I update resources and the whole system and manage to do it manually and automatic (I can’t type there letters like á é í ó and ú dunno y; cuz I can do it in anything else, even firefox search box). The games runs very slow, very, I manage to reconfigure firefox and these web-searched stuff to make it faster and now it runs faster but graphics still goes like dying, rly slow.

Then I forgot gaming on flash player (I’m struggling with this two days ago already), so I did download pcsxr and brough my backed up save files, they worked just as expected BUT, when I did just run the cd as I used to do, I looked at the screen and noticed the graphics looked amazing, then I just addressed the main issue about all of this. It suppose to make the game run faster and if I want to run it smoothly, I should spend time configuring it till I achieve such thing. All the configuration is on default, the drivers are preconfigured to run like that, so there’s nothing that I could do than watching all in slow motion.

So here is the real deal; I believe that OpenGL is running in this computer using all its GPU power (w/e it means) to make things here to look smoothly, and it is. The thing is that I don’t have graphic cards, I’m using an internal chipset (G31) that as much should manage ~250MB of video memory (Idk). Since I’m not such advanced user in this matter, I’m minding on downgrading cuz to me is the fastest and easy way according to my few knowledge. I read any suggestion, ideas, presumptions, etc.

Thanks for reading, and make ur opinion like if we’re in sharktank tv show plz.

Bac when I had time to game. I used dosbox and stored some games in a folder on my low spec boxes.

        https://www.dosgames.com/

dosbox is included in AntiX full. inxi is also included in AntiX and a readout should have been included in your 1st post in this thread so members could see what you are running. like a

        inxi -v8-z

while playing your game. Howdy and Welcome to our world.

In pcsxr, I found that the default graphics driver is opengl — that’s probably why it “looks beautiful.” On my 32-bit systems, I have to switch it to xvideo driver to get a good frame-rate to play.

Run pcsxr. Go to the “configuration” menu, and select “bios & plugins.” Next click “graphics” — here there are only 2 options in the graphics configuration drop-down choices — opengl & Xvideo. Switch to Xvideo driver. For me, it runs LOTS faster, and nearly all of my favorite games now run at/about 100% full speed.

Only that one adjustment, and no searching for new plugins are needed (in my experience).

Try that and see if it works on your system. 🙂

Thanks by answering, but I returned to 17.1 from 17.4.1 antiX; and the issue seems to be this:

Failed to open VDPAU backend libvdpau_va_gl.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory

When I do install it, it starts to freeze and even make the flash player stuttering; well I noticed somehow libflashplayer.so and libpepflashplayer.so or something like that work together (cuz I rly was struggling to make it work on the new firefox with no luck last time), I am just doing now comparison before reinstalling 17.4.1 or even up (cuz I saw a 19 version in the forum but didn’t saw it on torrents download).

About the pcsxr, I though this computer was unable to run OpenGL 2.1 and it did (very, very slow and the game didn’t look like as psx old style, though it was a remake). Sadly I don’t have a graphic card and I’ve to use X drivers, but still selecting the X drivers plugins in the emulator, it still run slow like ignoring the choice and go straight with default drivers settings (again OpenGL).

            $ inxi -v8-z
Error 4: unsupported verbosity level: 8-z

Now Idk if downgrading to OpenGL 1.3, uninstall it or just reinstall Xorg till it get as default, once I hit there, I might focus on the flash player sttutering in firefox, some ppl say its due browser.cache.memory few buffer capacity, other unchecking hardware acceleration (first thing I did) did the touch.

Remember that I wipe out this disk to roll back and use the past version of antiX, the things here runs ok (with the outdate version of firefox and flashplugin); I tried pcsxr but same story as before, stilling picking X driver plugins goes with full enhacements for graphics without configuring it. Gonna try later on making some configurations in the OpenGL plugin of it, or I’ll end playing mathematics the rescue in the DoS box again.
