Installed antix21, and was missing some toolbar icons while using IceWM. In the control center > IceWM settings are files for toolbar and menu. These show which .png images are used, and some of these were not present on a fresh install. I installed faenza-icon-theme and did a global search/replace in the toolbar and menu files to change the icon directories to files which were installed.

        Which toolbar icons were missing?
Did you install over antiX-16 and use the save /home option?
If so, there lies the real problem
Thanks for posting the fix for others who choose to save /home during installation.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Yes, home was kept, and some prior icon theme was not installed by default by antix21. The icons included the USB umount, terminal, browser, email, and perhaps a few others. I was able to use locate to find the icon files needed and adjust the configuration.

There may be no way to automate these adjustments on a new install, especially when skipping several generations. Perhaps links from abandoned image files to new replacements, but that’d be a lot of work.

So far I have not encountered such a problem, but it is always interesting to read about how others solve similar problems so that, in case this happens to me, I can easily solve this issue. This is the right approach, isn’t it? Moreover, lately I have been thinking about changing the appearance of these icons a little, so there is a possibility that if I do something wrong, they may disappear from me. [advert linked removed by admin] I am sure that I will succeed.

In general, it is a good idea to inform the readers exactly what you did prior to existing situation. If you DID use the preserve /home option of the installer that is important information to share. Otherwise how will we know? We don’t know what you do not share with us.
