Despite of having a persistent-all setup there are some settings lost at each reboot.
This is quite annoying since it is the keyboard layout which is concerned:From antiX Control Center → System → Systemwide keyboard layout I set:
unchanged: German keyboard layout added: additional kyrillic keyboard layout removed: US-keyboard layout added: Shortcut for switching between keyboard layouts: Ctrl right + Shift right changed: LED-Display to none (instead of "Scroll").Works like a charm as long no reboot has to be performed.
After each reboot I have to go to control menu again and again and repeat these settings, since these are switched back to single layout (German), as originally set in bootscreen.
Should probably add: This behaviour happens despite of (automatically) saving persistence at shutdown, and also a personal remaster doesn’t change things.
Could this be helped somehow? Where Do I have to put it, so it won’t get removed anymore?
Moreover I noticed a small display bug also, but only of cosmetic nature: After boot the US keyboard flag is displayed in status bar at IceWM desktop, regardless which keyboard or language was chosen at bootscreen. This changes to the correct flag immediately after keying in the first characters only, either in a text editor, in terminal emulator, or in a browser input field. I can live with it, no question, but this behaviour might be confusing to some antiX newcomers, inducing them to go to control center first and trying to reset keyboard layout, assuming they face US keyboard layout still, until they’ve understood this is a cosmetic bug only.
System: antiX 21 full 32bit Live persist-all, most recently apt upgraded.
Windows is like a submarine. Open a window and serious problems will start.
