      Hi!

I was reading PPCs post “Small list of (usually) unkown antiX apps” and speedtest-cli.py caught my attention as I usually test my internet speed in a browser. Being able to test it in a terminal is a LOT faster on my old machine. Anyways, it was a dud:

      speedtest-cli.py
      Retrieving speedtest.net configuration…
      Traceback (most recent call last):
      .
      .
      .
ValueError: invalid literal for int() with base 10: ”

So I googled this thing and found the github, installed it using

      $ pip3 install speedtest-cli

      and it works.

      So this post is mainly:
      1) advertisment for this useful app
      2) a heads up to the devs that it does not work out of the box on antix 19.4

[3) *** Forbidden. Message seems to be spam. *** when trying to post output from the terminal.]

      cheers!

Debian repos have it, so best to install via apt

        https://packages.debian.org/search?keywords=speedtest-cli&searchon=names&suite=all&section=all&sourceid=mozilla-search

I’ll update desktop-session-antix (antiX-19) and that should remove the broken speedtest-cli.py version

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.
