      Question:
      Why does “splash=v” in grub boot entries result with some computer halting with “Waiting for /dev to be fully populated…?”

      Context is using the antix-core ISO on a flash drive for installation.

      I found the solution googling to remove “splash=v” from the grub boot entry, but I would like to know root cause to determine the appropriate solution. Removing it has the added benefit of getting rid of the console border which increases console/tmux real estate.
