::@Wallon: That’s interesting! I’ll have to go back to my MX Linux and antiX configurations and see which of them DO have Opera included and which of them do not. It IS possible to go directly to the Opera Web site. They have the current release available for amd64.deb packaging; I noticed that yesterday. What I DON’T understand is why the very same version of the software works just fine with my siduction distribution, but fails, just as you showed in your image, when I run it on either MX Linux or antiX?
My next step is that I’m going to completely purge both the installation and any configuration files & directories beneath both the .cache and .config folders in my home directory. Anticapitalista said that in his instance he was able to browse in our forum, and that was an issue for me. I have purged the directories mentioned, but perhaps if we completely purge all recognition of Opera – the Debian packages, the cache and configuration directories – EVERYTHING, then go to the Opera Web site and manually download the current Opera image for our hardware – I know for certain there is an amd64.deb image, then install it; we can see if that solves the problem or not.
I may or may not get to this today, but you may want to try this and report back.
