hello friends of antix, I have antix 19.3 on the desktop pc and mx linux on the laptop. The point is that I want to open, use a remote desktop, which I usually use on a windows pc at work. I tried remminia, team wiever and any desk, none of them work. Could you help me? I don’t want to go back to windows anymore.

            dear ecalderontanti07,
both Teamviewer and any desk work for me.
The 1st I use the free version on a roughly weekly basis for remote assistance, only for 64 bit pc.
The 2nd I tried, and use rarely, only for 32 bit, while for 64 bit I use the former.
The only tip that I can strongly advise you, is: when you want to install a new program, first you should search in the Antix into the “program install”, (their app centre), and, according to what you tried your post, there you find remmina and teamviewer, not anydesk.
In that case it is MUCH BETTER to utilize their “app centre” because in some cases I found out that the programs downloaded and installed in this way worked and the others, downloaded from the program’s home page, did not.

As for your fear of having to go back to win, I can tell you it hasn’t happened to me in the last 12 years
            🙂

            EDIT
in my suggestion I have given as an implied premise that the same program is active on both PCs

Hi, you also need to enable remote desktop (connection to your Win[dows] PC) on the Win PC.

              EDIT:
Question: Is it possible that the Win PC gets suspended/hibernated when idle and you cannot login because of that?
If so, then one might enable WOL (Wake-On-Lan) and send a magic packet to the Win PC; this might require (change in BIOS) and cooperation of local IT/network department to set it up properly.

I tried remminia, team wiever and any desk, none of them work.

That is strange – I used teamviewer dozens of times, on antiX, without any problem at all- but you do have to have the exact same version of teamviwer on both computers…

antiX has a program called 1-to-1-assistance-antix that could possibly get past a company proxy or firewall block – you should install and try that on each antiX computer if possible.

                  sudo apt install 1-to-1-assistance-antix

Personally when I was using multiple systems in a work environment I would use SSH for simple file transfer or basic login.

For an actual login screen I would use one of the VNC programs. The other brand name alternatives I’ve never heard of, seen or read about prior to this thread.

VNC works well across Linux, UNIX and Windows systems.
