Did you reboot before running iso-snapshot?
btw its not a good idea to remove working kernels until you are sure that the new ones work after a reboot.

Philosophers have interpreted the world in many ways; the point is to change it.

antiX with runit - leaner and meaner.

Makes no sense, edit, update’s and recently upgraded will not be saved with reboot bevore I get a new ISO-snapshot ?

And dist-upgrade does not want to work?

dist-upgrade does not want to work
            details???

updates and recently upgraded will not be saved with reboot before I get a new ISO-snapshot ?
            Snapshot reproduces the currently-running system.
If you boot using a (the) changed kernel, that detail of the currently-running system will be evident in the snapshot result.
If you have not yet rebooted, although additional kernels may be present… snapshot faithfully reproduces the system based on the currently-running kernel.

            And GRUB?
“How to update grub following a kernel change?” is a separate and probably distro-agnostic, question.
I’ll defer to followup posts to cover “howto” (or link a recommended tutorial)

If you’re looking for grub on a LiveDVD… and you’re hoping to write (multi-session?) changes back to the LiveDVD, please stop.
Maybe someone will post a clever solution. Until then, I see no way to accomplish your intended goal using just a LiveDVD.

You have viewed and followed the instructions in the video?
video: “Antix 13 Stable – Install a different kernel”
After installing new kernel, if you did not update grub PRIOR to rebooting… yeah, fall down, go boom.
Do over. Reinstall, and… follow the instructions provided in the video.

Hi Skodooo, thanks for the replay 🙂

I installed again and again according to the video.. kernel panic.
Another hd .. startup .. kernel panic

Then i downloaded a new 17.iso, installed with the kernel 4.10.5.. startup.. kernel panic kernel panic

I’ll wait for a new kernel upgrade, until then I’ll continue 4.10.5

                        Koolstofje.

Hi. I installed antiX-17.1-net (32-bit) on the hard disk of the desktop. I upgraded the kernel to 4.9.91, rebooted into the newer kernel and purged the older one, updated and dist-upgraded. I installed xserver-xorg, xserver-xorg-legacy, xinit, icewm, rxvt-unicode, palemoon-nonsse2 and iso-snapshot-antix. I want to create an iso of the system, but:

                          $ sudo iso-snapshot
                          sudo: iso-snapshot: command not found

(EDIT: wrong command, see the next post)

                          Any idea, please?

You need to install various dependences for iso-snapshot-antix. One being qt5. You also need to install gksu.

                                Try after installing libqt5gui5 libqt5widgets5 libqt5webkit5
